Bloggers get-together Cape Town

Being Brazen and Betty Bake organised a bloggers meet up last night at the Daddy Cool bar at Big Daddy hotel. It was really cool meeting fellow bloggers and Tweeters. The welcome drinks were sponsored by Zandvleit wines and the heavenly cupcakes were lovingly baked by Kate from Kathcake. Before the event started I also popped in at the vintage sale at Beleza and came away with three items for R230!!!!!

Long street - Circa 1970

Researching old Cape Town was a very interesting way of spending a rainy weekend indoors. I love doing research for my blog. I came across this photograph of Christmas shopping in Adderley street in 1950, and I just had to share it.

And of course, our favourite street of all, nowadays, good old Long street circa 1977.

Things have really changed. Of course, now we have the privilege of having So You, Hello Again, Glitterati, Aeroplane Jane and the much loved, Second Time Around, all in one, excuse the pun, long street.
