What to look out for when buying vintage:

What to look out for when buying vintage:
Missing buttons: Be  prepared to replace all the buttons. A mismatched set just looks shabby.
Most hems can be lengthened :short sleeves are another story
Torn lining’s can be very pricey to replace.  Only the purchase the item if you can’t live without it.
Old perfume responds well to dry cleaning, embedded perspiration usually does not. Get rid of mustiness with a good airing
Dry clean the garment to kill of any eggs before you attempt to repair it
Rather than using hangers, store in acid free tissue paper and refold every few months
Creases can also take their toll on delicate fabrics
